Project Overview
For my FX Directed Study along with 3 other students, we recreated two scenes from the atomic bomb testing video. I am responsible for the ground shockwave smoke effect. I created a Level-Of-Detail smoke system in Houdini where the voxel size of the VDB is dependent upon how far away it is from camera.
Software Used: Autodesk Maya, Houdini, Renderman, Nuke
