Cascade Water Fountain
VFX Water Study

Project Overview
For a personal project, I designed and textured a water fountain, incorporating a playful dog statue for added visual interest. My main focus for this project was on the water simulation, created in Houdini and seamlessly integrated into Unreal. I handled all aspects of the project except for the dog model, which was obtained from TurboSquid.
Software Used: Houdini and Unreal Engine

FLIP Water Simulation

Using Houdini, I created an enchanting water FLIP simulation, showcasing cascading waterfalls and a charming dog statue. Houdini's FLIP simulation is a robust tool for crafting lifelike fluid dynamics in digital worlds. It works by generating a fluid surface as particles move, resulting in realistic flowing water, splashes, and other fluid effects.
Unreal Path Tracer Rendering
I made the water simulation look as real as possible by using Unreal's path tracing rendering system. Unreal Engine's Path Tracer Rendering simulates realistic lighting by tracing rays from the camera through the scene, calculating how light interacts with surfaces. It includes effects like reflection, refraction, and indirect lighting, while also sampling direct light sources. The accumulated contributions of these rays create a photorealistic image with lifelike lighting and materials.
